Isolated Floor Reduces Impact Noise in Local Highschool

Schools have an obligation to provide students with quiet classrooms to promote an engaging learning experience. However, certain areas of a school, such as lunch rooms, auditoriums, and gymnasiums, can and often do create unwanted noise that invades nearby classrooms.

This was the case with a local College Prep High School where the basketball court located on the second floor was creating excessive noise for the classrooms below. After conducting a couple of mockups for Threshold Acoustics, we were contracted to provide Liftwrx Spring Jack Up Floor throughout the basketball court and weight room.

With the floor properly isolated, the impact noise has been mitigated, and the school can now use both classrooms and the gymnasium simultaneously without interruption.
