Filter Solutions Save a Local Hospital Network Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars in Material Spending
Columbus, Ohio
Overview:
With the high indoor air quality standards in healthcare facilities, building owners need a filter solution that protects patients and holds its value over time. While healthcare facilities may choose cheaper filters upfront, they end up paying more in the long run due to “hidden costs,” such as labor to replace filters, the cost of the filters themselves, and the higher energy bills (Filters make up 30% of an HVAC systems energy consumption).
The Problem:
A local healthcare network in Columbus, Ohio was spending an exorbitant amount of money not only on energy bills, but on constant filter change-outs. Due to this inefficient filtration, the facility had to change its prefilters every 30 days and its MERV 14 Final filters every 6-12 months. This led to increased labor expenses that required a more long-term, sustainable solution that would save the facility money over time.
The Solution & Result:
After our team surveyed the facility, we installed prefilters (Farr 30/30 MV8-A) that lasted 6 months and MERV 14 (Durafil ES3 MV14-A) final filters that could go up to 2 years without a change-out. This simple solution has saved the facility hundreds of thousands of dollars annually on material spending alone. Not to mention their additional savings from labor and energy.
With the success of this account, we were able to earn the business of 32 additional facilities within the client’s network.
