Acoustical Solutions Enhance Viewing Experience for Motion Picture Screening Room

While movies are a predominantly visual medium, they’re nothing without sound effects and a beautiful score – and even the best movies fall flat without balanced acoustics. That’s why our team crafted a custom acoustical solution for a local university’s motion picture screening room.

The noise control experts at Ketchum & Walton worked with designers and contractors to install 4” thick fabric panels for extreme low-frequency absorption. To ensure the highest quality, these panels were built on site and finished with custom colors to match the space.

With the acoustical problems within the screening room solved, we then had to ensure that noise didn’t pollute the offices located directly above. To address this, our team provided Kinetics floating floors, walls, and ceilings to create air space and limit sound transmission.
