An NRC rating, or Noise Reduction Coefficient, is a number that represents how much sound a material can absorb. The NRC rating is measured on a scale of 0.0 to 1.0, with 0.0 being completely reflective and 1.0 meaning all sound is absorbed and not reflected back into the space.
